School visits
A schools day today. I visited St Mary's Shenfield, a wonderful school, leading worship on the theme of gifts. Children were invited to bring gifts that were special to them. Wow! A really special and emotional time. I then spent some time with the massed ranks of KS1 who wanted to learn how to pray .... without words. Excellent!
And then on to Hillhouse, Waltham Abbey, another excellent school who have worked so hard to be in the great place they are.
Today's blips are of the interior of St Mary's Shenfield. The only memorial in the church is that of Elizabeth Robinson, died 1652. Daughter of Walter Merrill, a goldsmith, and described as a good churchman and "Overseer to the Poor". Now there's a title! Elizabeth was married at 15 and died, aged 16, giving birth to her first and only child, Walter.
