Pumpkin Season

I was lucky enough today to be asked if I would take some portrait photos of this lovely lady, Kate Malone. Kate is an artist and makes the most wonderful ceramics.  She has an exhibition of her work at Waddesdon Manor next year, so these shots are for the website and publicity.  Kate is holding one of her ceramic creations with another few in front of her - the rest make up a real pumpkin display in a private walled garden at Eythrope belonging to the Waddesdon Estate - a privilege to be allowed in and to wander round!

Kate was great to work with and we got on well - she has asked if I would go to her studio sometime when more of the pots for Waddesdon will be ready - very exciting.  Kate is one of the judges in a forthcoming series, The Great British Throw Down, which will model the Bake off but with potters - so watch out for that!

Tomorrow I am photographing more pumpkins as the Waddesdon Education department takes delivery of a large number of this veg ready for all the Hallowe'en festivities planned over the school half term holiday.  I may be 'pumpkinned out' after tomorrow!! 
If you look at the large 'stool' pumpkin in front of Kate perhaps I can get away with this as an image for Abstract Thursday?!
