Disappointing day

After all the fun things that happened to me since the weekend, i was rewarded with a very frustrating event this afternoon. I got  a job offer that would allow me to earn 80GBP for a total of 1.5days of work but i couldnt take the job because my UK visa is in my old passport. Only if i had known about this requirement before, I would have processed it before applying for jobs. I even went to the Unitemps office a month ago to ask for requirements before i was offered a job but the secretary sent me off because they dont accommodate "looking" at current documents about application for proof of eligibility to work unless i get a job offer. How difficult is her job going to be if she only had to look at my old and new passports then. That bit of useful information would have come  a long way by now. A pretty stupid thing to be honest when i only want some information about the requirements. I could have already applied and received my Biometric Residence Permit (the replacement for a visa in an old passport) by now and could have accepted the job.
