Demolished

The demolition work is well underway on the Baileyfield site at the entrance to Portobello. The ragtag collection of buildings have been mostly flattened.
The internet was full of Back To The Future today as this was the day that Marty, Jennifer and The Doc travelled to in the future in the second film in the trilogy. I remember going to see the first film when it came out in the cinema on Lothian Road, shortly after I'd started working in Edinburgh after finishing Uni.
But today is more significantly the real life anniversary of the Aberfan Disaster, in 1966.
And Trafalgar Day, when they fly the flags on Calton Hill. Strange not to be in town at all to see them.
