Last day in the desert. Back home to Douz and then the plane. Some were sitting on camels (me holding the camera, Marguerite riding a white camel like a real pro, some on horses, youngest son dressed as a tuareg, totally unrecognisable :-) -see extra).
Then a last meal together and late in the evening before we all went to get a few hours sleep before being driven back to Djerba to catch our plane, an ultimate brotherly moment: a dozen lanterns were released in the air, which lit up the sky above the desert as a strong symbol of friendship, tolerance and sharing.
