Vaseline Glass

Several years ago my wife's aunty left her various pieces of Vaseline Glass which were made around 1912 one of which I have attempted to photograph here, and  I can immediately see there are  some issues to be addressed regarding lighting.  The real name of this glass is Uranium Glass because it has had Uranium Oxide added to it before melting, this gives it varying degrees of colour depending on the amount of Uranium Oxide added. The glass gets its nickname "Vaseline Glass" because the surface lustre resembles petroleum jelly
