My horsey fix in Discovery Bay. Sniff.

Draft horses live in the North plaza and they are available for hire.  My understanding is they were purchased in Canada and shipped over.  They pull beautiful carriages up around the plaza and along the ocean front.   Until we moved here, I had horses most of my life.   Sometimes I'll walk through the wooded path to where their paddock is - and hope to get a glimpse of them.   They are very well cared for thankfully (I've been watching since they moved into town - I was worried about how'd they'd fare here in the heat).   Their paddock is lovely - it's shaded, with clean water troughs and plenty of grass and hay.   And it smells like horse ... (like home for me).
