Back Blip:  Last Saturday night I got to spend one of our coveted date nights at 5200 ft, drinking wine out of our camping cups and warming ourselves by a fire this incredible guy built out of branches he foraged from the tree line.  A year and a half ago, we fell in love with Gothic Basin, a challenging 9.5 mile hike with a steep 2850ft gain.  We've always talked about backpacking in and staying overnight but still hadn't done it.  Despite the forecast for rain, we took advantage of babysitting and made our Saturday night date night a date hike instead.  We had a great time, only getting rained on overnight, and are already talking about returning to conquer Del Campo Peak. . . just a little bit further.  Here are some more pictures from our stay.
