Fattening Up the Wax Eyes
All I have today is an early morning snapshot of two little wax eyes feeding on the fat I hang in the silver birch trees for them. I used to put it on the feeding tray but the starlings greedily scoffed the lot in minutes. So now I put the fat in a mesh bag and hang it from a small branch. The starlings are too big and heavy to get it from there and so the little wax eyes have it all to themselves. It is amazing how much they get through.
It has been a busy day - apologies to all those I missed commenting on .
