Same moth, different angle!

When I released this beautiful Mervielle-du-jour today he stayed on my finger for a little while whirring his wings before he flew off high up into my tree. 
It was spellbinding watching him flex his muscles in his thorax and vibrate his wings ...despite his size he was very powerful! I was also intrigued by his face, I think the little palps around the proboscis make him look like a little pig, so sweet. 
So, today's blip is the face of my very obliging Mervielle-du-jour moth from yesterday..hope you like him too
