American Black Vulture

This American Black Vulture, no relation to the European Black Vulture, was calmly sitting on a trash bin  near a street I was driving on so I stopped.   Must have been waiting for supper.  They have a poor sense of smell compared to the Turkey Vulture, but maybe there was something he detected.  Or maybe he saw that there was a Smoke Shop close by and he was waiting for someone from there.  
Anyway, how appropriate is a vulture for Mono Monday anyway?
