In the City!

So there I was, in the centre of the City of London. We had just started our after work hours training session for a group of business volunteers, preparing them to work with students in schools. Suddenly the fire alarm went off and loudspeakers told us to "Evacuate the building.". There was grit and what might have been smoke as we ran up the stairs to ground level.

We left the building quickly and were led by fire wardens down to a quieter side road where we had to wait for the all clear. After about 20 mins we were advised that it was best to send everyone home as they didn't know how long we would have to wait.

Thus ended the shortest volunteer training session ever!
