City Scenes
The city centre is such a source of interesting faces and situations. I captured these four images in the space of 15 minutes. The girl behind the juice bar does a roaring trade in expensive healthy fruit and vegetable 'power' concoctions; the young woman with the 'grey' hair and face of a Titian beauty (like a Greek goddess combining beauty with a sense of threat) looks stunning in her black and white outfit; the couple are caught in a moment of connection in the sharp autumn sunlight; the man is balancing upside down with his head in a bucket to supplement his existence as a homeless person, outside a store called 'New Look'. Yes, it is strange and paradoxical world.
The extra photo is a Glaswegian street musician receiving a pound coin for his efforts given to the youngster by his Dad. The only trouble was he threw it with such ferocity that it bounced out of the case and rolled toward me at some speed. I stopped its progress down Buchanan Street with my foot and Dad then rescued the coin and returned it to his son's hand with instructions to drop rather than throw. Ah well, there's a lot to learn about how to give when you are only 3 years old!
