Locks on the Wheelock Flight.

Today we were working our way up "Heartbreak Hill" the Cheshire Locks.  The canal is climbing quite steeply at this point and 22 locks are found quickly one after the other,

This means that, if like me you love working the locks you have little time for anything else.  I did however take the camera with me on the Wheelock Flight of locks.  These are 8 locks even close together than many of the others.  You rise 79 feet 6 inches over these 8 locks alone.

Many of the locks on the Cheshire Locks are like this double locks.  This saves water as hopefully one lock is always either empty or full depending on which way you are going.  In this case it didn't most were against us.
