Wegmans Express. Leitz Summicron 50mm DR
A couple of years back a new supermarket called Wegmans came to Boston from Upstate New York. They opened up at a new shopping mall not far from us. The store is a mix: up front they have all the good stuff like a fabulous cheese counter, charcuterie, great vegie and fruit sections - all for a price. Then, further back it turns into a warehouse with steel shelving and bulk quantities of goods at much more attractive prices. High above a refrigerator case containing dairy items there is a huge loop of O Gauge track and a fine freight train traveling around it. I have been thinking about this for a while. It's tricky though: to catch not only the train in focus but also some of the store signs to put it in context. I should have gone with a wider angle lens probably. The other customers must have thought I had a screw loose, but how could I resist? Here are two views.
