Stir up Sunday
Today is the day I traditionally make our Christmas cake. Last day of the October holidays. I'm retired now, but my internal alarms started ringing when I was in Sainsbury's and so I found myself home with all the dried fruit ready to go. It's hard to get going as you need to remember to soak the fruit for 12 hours or overnight before you do anything else and I never remember in time. This year, no problem as I can do the cake on Monday.
Five tablespoons of brandy to soak all that fruit didn't seem enough, so I gave it another five ... Hic!
