The Birthday Bash

And the grand finale to this family birthday celebration week was a fabulous family dinner at Ivar’s Salmon House.  I have to blip this as a historic event…this is our small but whole wonderful family together in one place. ( Except for one nephew who is not well and lives in Kansas).  We never would have done this without H’s  younger brother T’s insisting they come for the birthday celebration.  And are we happy and glad they did!!   It’s not easy to get 14 people looking  all at once, and I’m not fond of the camera flash.. but had to do it.  We loved the setting in our private room with the NW Native Art and the view of downtown Seattle on this misty rainy night.  The dinner and the conversations were wonderful but the absolute highlight was the 4 grandkids' presentation of “75 reasons why we love Nanna and Boppa”  which they took turns listing, every 4th one.., complete with props or photos for many.   (directed by d-i-l K, the girls’Mom)  So many heartwarming memories - we were very touched and it provided many laughs.  From listing many of the places we have taken them (Tatum had the Venice book) and shows we have seen even long ago,(the Neon Bruce Nauman, when Tatum was 3!))  to things we have made (the knit dolls were there) to many pictures of PANCAKES, to “teaching us to row”, “the fairy circle”, “the golf cart,” “ Parker Island Camp,”  " Boppa cleaning otter poop off he dock."“christmas cookies”  to one of “pictures and pictures and pictures and pictures”. ! Oh my, I’ll stop. ..it all needs to go in a book!  
What a lovely week we’ve had… We are so blessed….. now we need to savor and recover..
