Spotted Redshank(Tringa erythropus)
I've moved to my new beach location, it is a 15 minute drive, instead of just down the road and I actually drive past my Wadi looking longingly at it and hoping it will be back to normal soon. At the beach I park right up beside a lovely lagoon, at first the birds all fly off noisily, but luckily just do a loop and land back down again as a small protest at being disturbed. The old favourites are always there, Ruddy Turnstone, Sanderling, Ringed Plovers and my friend this bird the Spotted Redshank. I think it is the Spotted variety and not exactly the same as the ones with you Nicki in Jersey. This one is quite a bit paler grey and has more white feathers than the Redshank.
