Turron

Turron is a very Spanish confectionery, made from almonds. Most families will offer Turron, in some form, to their guests, over the Christmas period.

Turron is particularly important in Alicante Province. This year the almond harvest of 1.5million kilos is about 40% more than the 2014 harvest. Jijona is the main centre for the manufacturing of Turron.

Turron is beginning to appear in the supermarkets, in the run up to Christmas. I bought some today, to give as a gift ......and here it is as today's Blip!
