A good day for bathing ..

A quick trip out in the morning to see if I could get a decent photo of a brambling while the sun shone for an hour or two (according to the weather forecast)

Of course I couldn't find one! As I was heading home I came across a big puddle which had gathered in some deep tyre ruts. There were clouds of meadow pipits and yellowhammers and a lone sparrow flying down for a splash about and then back to a nearby hawthorn.

Great fun to watch. :)
