Confused woodpecker?!

Slept quite well but woke up with a headache also another dull, damp day:( Decided to go for a walk, thought the fresh air might help and was surprised to see this Greater Spotted Woodpecker up a telegraph pole down the lane.  Also caught sight of a Jay but it flew off before I could get the camera in focus!  Had cuppa with my friend this afternoon who also has the cold.  On the plus side my son has bought me a spa day for myself and a friend:)
