Rhododendron ponticum

Flowers of the dreaded Rhododendron ponticum, which is out in all its glory right now in these parts (wherever Government Agents and eager bands of Conservation Volunteers have failed in their attempt to eradicate it totally from our countryside over the past 3-4 decades...)

P.S. Quite spookily, I noticed right after posting this that I'd blipped another 'invasive alien plant species' - Giant Hogweed, Heracleum mantegazzianum - exactly one year ago today.
