Let it Be a Bee Orchid!

I had a lovely extra hour sleeping this morning and an hour getting up (Thank you, Richard!) without headache.

I've got back into reading with a little help from some friends' recommendations (24 recommendations to be exact) and had to tear myself away from The Secret Life of Bees to get my arse into gear and go for a walk. A wonderful book loaded with amazing sentences that you feel like picking out and quoting.

Bees are featuring highly in my life recently. I've started to take a genuine interest in them. I love watching them, listening to them and photographing them. It's quite amazing how differently different species of bee behave. If we had more room I've love to keep bees.
Isn't it funny what can grab our attention? Some people will never give a toss about bees.

I was delighted to discover these bee orchids up in the dunes today. I don't remember seeing them before and said 'Look Tess. These are bee orchids... At least I think they are bee orchids. I hope they are bee orchids!' As soon as we got home I checked on the Internet to make sure they were. Hooray - bee orchids!

Other photos are here in my facebook album

I also wrote another one of my weird blogposts I always feel better after writing these.
And the sunshine, and Richard having a day off, helped at lot of course.

Before she went to bed, Tess said she wasn't sure who she wanted to win the football tonight: Italy or England. I said we should want whoever plays the best to win. That's right, isn't it?
