Planetshakers

I somehow got to bed very late again last night (and again tonight I might add) so didn't wake too early. I made it to church though, and from there, headed to the other side of town to pick up tickets to the Planetshakers concert tonight. It's been advertised for a few months, but as I don't really know any of their songs, I kept dilly-dallying about tickets.

Tana from work had said Yes to going, and G had the brilliant idea of leaving the car at the venue so we could make a quick getaway at the end as well as get parked close to the stadium. So, we had a chilled out afternoon having naps and watching movies - Drumline (all about marching bands) and A Shine of Rainbows, the latter one really sad, it had me in tears!!

Back to the evening; made it there - just as the warm-up band played their last song. We were both SO glad that we went. There were thousands of people there. It is always very heartening to see just how big the Christian community in Dubai is, or at least the concert-going part of it!

The venue was the Tennis stadium which is such a good size. As you can see from the blip and extras, the only free seats were alongside the stage, so we got an excellent view of the band and what was going on. No need to look at the big screens, not that we could see anything because we were behind them!

I don't know if you've heard of the Planetshakers. They are a group of young Aussies on fire for God. (SweetArt gave us a CD which has a couple of their songs.) They have so much energy - it's incredible. Their songs are very bouncy and catchy, and the vast majority of the crowd (mainly from the Philippines) knew their material. They sang along!

The extras give an idea of how many people were there. And if you've ever wondered about the tiny flashlight on your phone, one of the extras shows just how powerful they are!

We got home much earlier than Wednesday night but it has taken me a while to go through the pictures to find what I want to share. I hope you like them. If Planetshakers ever come to a town or venue near you - GO and experience them live. They are totally worth it. :)
