NUTHATCH!

Very poor quality image, but we are so delighted to welcome this new visitor.  I've only previously seen them in England and once in Dumfries and Galloway, but apparently they are extending their range northwards - sensible birds.  

This is the first day for ages when there has been nothing in the diary. There is a huge pile of tasks waiting to be done, but having made a pot of tomato soup (it's tomato glut season) while listening to the delightful Flock of Tigers I'm going to answer sunshine's call and ignore the rest.
