2015 Saturday -- New Kitchen Appliances

Our little beach "Shack" on California's Central Coast is getting a complete make-over. The interior will be a brand new house when construction is finished.

The old kitchen was completely gutted. It will be in a new location inside the house, so all new appliances are being looked at and ordered. This has been a real education.

I've learned about "panel-ready" appliances. I've learned about "counter-depth" refrigerators. I've learned about ranges that have duel ovens that are convection and gas; I've learned about microwave ovens that are also convection. I learned that the most popular finish is stainless steel and that it is getting almost impossible to purchase white appliances.

I wouldn't want to take a test about any of this, but I am gaining knowledge and I'm narrowing the brands that I'm most interested in.

The new kitchen is going to be lovely.
