The Col del Grand St Bernardo

We began our mountain walk from the top of the Col at a height of 2500 meters. This pass has been a way over the Alps since pre-historic times and remains an important crossing to this day and of course has given its name to the rescue dogs the St Bernard. Today was one of the last days that the pass remains open until it closes for the winter.
