EXPLORING ARROWTOWN!

Today we got to visit the historical Arrowtown of New Zealand! It's probably one of the cutest towns I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. Arrowtown was famous for the gold mining that occurred in the 1800's, and for all the Chinese men who came over to mine it. Unfortunately those men were often treated terribly by the locals. We stood in front of the homes they had lived in and we were just in awe of how imaginative they were in building their houses. Today the racism back in the 1800's is recognized by the government and they have tried to make amends which I think is wonderful.
