Grasmere

The weather is so good in the Lakes this week that we seem to be out all day light hours quick recovery and then out again to eat. Great life but unfortunately that leaves little time for blip comments and I am getting seriously behind, sincere apologies and thank you for recent stars and hearts.

Our visitor Jean was enthusiastic to watch the sunrise this morning so we chose Grasmere, as the mist cleared it was wonderful. We later went over to Ullswater for a wander around and walk up to the summit of Hallin Fell (in extras) and then drove down through Martingale (also in extras) to watch and listen to the rut in full bellowing glory. This is a valley head with no road and just an odd stone barn. The fells here are the home of  s home to the oldest native red deer herd in England. At this time of year when rutting is in full swing the atmosphere is like nothing else and feels so wild.
