Sir Who?
Wicklow Town was the venue today for Sailfest, a festival to mark the start of the round Ireland Yacht Race. Apparently the Round Ireland is considered to be one of the three premier (ie. toughest) races in the world. The other two being the Fastnet and the Sydney to Hobart.
Among the events taking place was an appearance by The Beatles. Well not actually the original mop tops but The Classic Beatles, an excellent tribute band. Generally speaking I hate tribute bands but these boys are really pretty good and manage to replicate the original sound of the fab four pretty faithfully. It is quite amazing how the music of The Beatles crosses the generations causing everybody to have a great day out. So many young people, born long after the group broke up, singing every word and bopping the afternoon away.
No prizes for guessing which of the boys this is supposed to be, even though he is right handed.
