Gifts from Albania

An interesting day! Spent ages unpacking and finding things tucked into every zipped item of clothing and luggage. Always bring things back and enjoy buying gifts for friends and neighbours not forgetting myself. Fallen into the habit of looking for an owl and Albania gave me this lovely alabaster version. I loved buying from mountain village ladies who spend a lot of time in the winter months making beautiful embroidered cloths and crotcheting mats. Needless to say the earrings are mine! The jug was given to me in a restaurant after admiring it when it was full of wine. Reputedly returned to the hotel singing Little Brown Jug but I can't remember!Having had a busy morning, not feeling too perky later and still hobbling so daughter no. 1 persuaded me to go to A & E. Head X-ray confirmed it's still intact but have broken a toe. Hoping it will now be straighter than it was before. Much happier at the end of the day!
