Hanging on until....

We took a ride to the National Forest today.  About 10 days ago, the forest was blazing with gold color from the aspens, now there is still some color holding on but most of it is gone at the higher elevations.

We walked into the forest on a trail we knew about but had never hiked.   So we took off with one bottle of water between us just to see what we could see. The trail was part dirt road and part path..downhill.  After a mile, we came upon the creek, the west fork of the creek that runs behind this house!    Then we had to do the uphill trip back to the car for a mile!
