A Pressing Engagement

What a bumper year for our ancient apple tree in the garden this year. Last year with it's virtual no-show, myself and MrsB had thought the tree's days were numbered. In the end, nothing like the prospect of a chain saw massacre to get the sap flowing again.

I counted them all down and later counted them all into the apple 'scratter' and press hired for the day from the wonderful co-op the Moss Cider Project.

By close of day, total juice pressed equalled 5 gallons. Most of that, bar a few extra-virgin presses sipped today, will shortly be fermenting away for some (hopefully) delicious Christmas scrumpy.
