The Hereford line

from Manchester, which goes on to Milford Haven, allows one to change for Malvern Link after a pleasant journey via Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Leominster with the sun setting over the Welsh hills. A nice change from the Stoke on Trent-Wolverhampton-Birmingham line.
