Temporary Pier

I discovered this morning that our muelle (pier) has been closed because of structural concerns. About this time last year long steel beams were brought in to reinforce the transition between land and over water. Barricades were erected to make sure people only walked on that section, but today that too is closed off. What this means is that those traveling by panga to Las Gatas must now board from a small platform around the corner, as these people are doing this morning while others watched from the pathway above. Time will tell how long the closure lasts and if we get a new pier in the process (as we have gotten so many other new constructions in the past couple of years).
