Wings

Down to Dungeness for some head-clearing birdwatching. My oh my was it chill. The wind was fierce but I took a flask now that we are off winter tees. The car park was full which didn't bode well but there was a large group of teachers on a training course. It seems that the science curriculum has changed and they were being given some training - I didn't hang on to see them pond-dipping after lunch.

One of the wonderful things about birdwatching is that one never knows what might be about. Today there were more than a dozen Great White Egrets which is a tremendous sight. Round to a different hide looking over a different stretch of water and there were Greylags and Canada Geese and Marsh Harriers and a Kestrel and Tufted Ducks and so much more. I find it very relaxing simply sitting and watching, even without the binoculars. I've also noticed that my stamina is improving - it's a couple of miles around the site and when I first did it I was stopping every now and again for a breather. Not now.

Along the coast I saw these guys kite-surfing so I grabbed some shots as they are nice and colourful. Conditions must have been near perfect and they were ripping along. Extras pot for more shots.

A very lovely day and I've got some exercise so I'm feeling virtuous.
