Fly agaric popcorn pieces anyone?

Facts
- Both toxic and hallucinogenic
- Causes very rapid heartbeat and a dry mouth 
- Urine becomes psychoactive
- You can get a second high drinking urine
- Koryak people from the Russian Far East offered the fresh fungus if they could to guests, otherwise a nice warm drink of (you guessed it!)
- Urine was repeatedly recycled in tribal rituals down the social structure.  Whether it had continual effect is hard to tell as the junior clan would have exhibited the same side effects so as not to cause offence to those higher up.

Folklore?
- Vikings used it to become fearless
- Santa’s reindeers use it to fly
- Death is a possibility

Before going to see mum for a lovely lunch, I dropped in to see my old school pal whose family seem to be plagued by cancer this year.  

If only fly agaric were the miracle cure.
