Catching Some Bass: The Ones That Got Away
It's a good job our lives don't depend on commercial fishing or hunter-gathering for our families, as today saw me and Kempy blank again in the pursuit of that pesky illusive Sea Bass. I even took along 3 rods set up to either fly fish or spin with spinners or 'popper' lures. We spent the afternoon fishing either side of high water out at Penmon Point (Seen here in my Blipfolio).
All was not totally lost though and we did in fact manage to bag quite a few Bass of the brewed variety, afterwards in the cozy snug of the Olde Bulls Head Inn. Conveniently, the 'Bull' is next door to our little place in Beaumaris and so provides a useful bolt hole when things are good or bad (or indifferent come to that).
We were being considerate and getting out of MrsB's way whilst she prepared a two-curry feast of both Dall Lentil and Duck Curry, and we waited for Spain vs France QF to kick off.
This picture was taken just as MrsB turned up with J and neice Dhahau for a little pre-dinner drink. We have also lined up some very interesting Nigerian brewed and 'exported' Guinness of 7.5% strength for the curry and game (along with the rest of the Glenlivet) so I think heads might be a bit sore tomorrow.
Certainly no early morning fishing is on the cards.
