Bailey's Stardust: Exhibition
Had a lovely trip to The National Gallery , catching, just in time, the exhibition of a treasure trove of David Bailey's photographs and other work.
I was born in 1950, so the work of Bailey, Terry Donovan, Duffy, Albert Watson , the awesome Don McCullin and others was part of day to day life; we were very aware of photographers. A lot of those absorbing the exhibition today were of the same vintage, revelling in wonderful portraits of so familiar names.
How many ring a bell for you? Molly Parkin, Zandra Rhodes, Terry Stamp, Chrissie Shrimpton, Penelope Tree, Susie Murray and the divinely beautiful Jean Shrimpton, P.J. Proby, Gordon Waller (of Peter & Gordon), Patti Smith and on and on and on ?
Exhibition finishes on the 18th.
