Diary of an Edinburgher

The Count Down Begins!

I have made a list. It's about an A4 page long. Mind you, there are some sub-lists yet to be added eg 'get techie things together' will also require a long list of items not to be left behind!

6 more sleeps, then no sleeps for a couple of nights on a plane. I have such a lot to do but once I start on the list, I'll be ticking them off at a great rate. In fact, I might just tick one or two off now, to get me started.

Spent a leisurely morning not really watching AM. In fact, the mute button was used when Tony Blair appeared. The programme after that always has some good heated arguments, and this morning it required almost my full attention (at the same time as blipping, of course).

Popped through to our neighbours for lunch. Brought them a nice big bunch of roses, as well as some liquid refreshment, of course. These are my blip, as I haven't been out today. They are going to welcome the Aussies next Saturday (the neighbours will do the welcoming, not the roses), give them the keys and generally be around if needed. Mouse traps were NOT mentioned... It's a pity we have to get through to Glasgow otherwise we could have met them briefly.

Had a most convivial lunch that lasted 4 hours. It was Italian themed, because our host is sure Italy are going to win tonight (typical Scotsman). His wife is French, but she's learning the local dialect quite well - eg she talked of someone being 'pished'. Had to laugh (discretely) at this rather refined French lady dropping that word into conversation in all seriousness.

Back home (5pm) and funnily enough don't feel like doing anything. Will read my list again, and start ticking it off tomorrow. What fun.
