"Can I plant the pips?"

So said Ruth when she was little .... and we did.


In the intervening years we have had various 'helpful' comments from gardening friends:
"They're no good on their own roots"
"They're better grafted."
"You won't get much fruit."
"They may not taste very nice."

This year Ruth came of age .... and so did her apple tree.  The apples are beautiful, juicy and crisp, in short, delicious :-)
