Olympic Torch

The torch relay passed quite close to our home today. However, as my daughter's gym club had been asked to help line the route, we headed for Oldham.

I was amazed at just how many people turned out on a Sunday morning to watch!

Both children and adults were excited, and to be honest, some of the children's excitement was down to the number of Police motorbikes that sped up the road as we waited. The kids were cheering the Police, and in return, the Police were 'high 5ing' the children as they passed.

The torch and bearer were out of sight within a few seconds. But I'm really glad that we took the trouble to go.

Gym used the event as an opportunity to boost club funds, so put on a display afterwards, with an Olympic theme, of course.

What a really enjoyable morning we had!

My son had a great time at his prom last night, too.
