The start of my official holiday in Hong Kong. I took a sampan across to Mo Tat Wan on Lamma Island to meet a friend and ex-colleague. What a great way to travel!

The sun was shining and we had lunch in a beach-side restaurant. I had a look at her studio and community garden. I then walked across the island to the main side of the island where my friends live, and where I was to stay for the next three nights.

It was a hot and humid day so I had to take plenty of breaks. I hiked for over an hour and a half and was greeted with a warm and enthusiastic welcome from my friend's youngest son, who was still jumping around despite having fractured his left arm.
