The Big Nest

It's been quite hot today (34) and we've spent a lot of the day inside with the air con! I haven't adjusted to the change in temperature as yet and the heat leaves me sapped of energy!!

Needless to say we didn't go for any big walks today much to Toto's disgust, just a short one down to the lake to check on the ibis late in the day when it was a little bit cooler.

This big nest is on the lower branches and is made of quite big long sticks. I've seen some of them struggling to fly with big branches in their beaks and somehow in the end they manage to construct these incredible nests!

The trees are paperbarks which are currently in bloom with lots and lots of small white blooms similar to bottlebrush. My extra will give you an idea of how lovely it looks up high in the trees catching the last rays of the day.

Can't believe the weekend is over already!!!
