A grand umbrella stand

Off to the Isle of Wight today. I'm not a coach trip person but it was such a bargain that it was a good chance to see somewhere I'd not been before.

We caught the ferry from Southampton in rain and thick mist then drove to the hotel in Sandown. It was a very grand place in it's day and had this huge umbrella stand on one of the landings. The stained glass must be part of a huge arch though the top couldn't be seen because of later alterations.
