So sad...

...to report that all 7 baby cygnets disappeared from the pond yesterday afternoon. No-one knows what happened. Possibly with the poor weather yesterday, they fell into the weir somehow and disappeared down the culvert. Or, as is more likely, that mink or otters took them from under the water.

Mum and Dad swan are distraught. This morning they were searching for them in the middle of the main road.

This blip is the view from our garden.
Am feeling very upset.
