Going with the grain

As I mentioned yesterday, Pierre, our neighbour, asked me if I could take some shots of his latest work.  He had bought himself a fine camera, but, typical of the man, his daughter said she liked it so he gave it to her!  Anyway, it was my privilege to shoot some of his work.  These little furniture wood sculptures stand about 5 inches tall.  He uses all the features of the original wood to create beautiful effects.  We had, guess what, a busy day.  Away early to the dump with the last trailer load of hedge cuttings, then off to do the weekly shopping, back to watch qualifying for the Russian Grand Prix, over to Pierre's to photo shoot, back to cut grass behind the barn, whilst N trimmed the last little hedge, then up into the office to work on a research proposal that is due in next week and finally, slumped down to dinner and wine with Strictly Come Dancing! Phew!
