Toby Cat

Toby is an old cat now - he will be almost if not actually 15. He is showing his age; can't jump, has lost a lot of condition and is easily worried. However he is still eating well and purrs a lot when made a fuss of.

This morning I discovered that he had managed to pull out one of his claws. He has been struggling to retract his claws for a while and apparently overnight he had got this claw stuck in the carpet! He didn't seem at all bothered despite everything. So after we washed the foot in warm salty water, he tucked into his breakfast and then went outside to sleep in the sun all day. Thankfully it doesn't look there will any need to take him to the vet which would, I suspect, be unbearably stressful for him.
