Cooking day
The market is a treat at this time of the year. It was difficult to resist buying all sorts of local produce but I stuck to the usual fish, spinach and squash along with lamb, strawberries and beans. Much of the produce has been gathered or picked the day before and it really is almost as good as growing your own. Our local market in the UK is mostly food that has been rejected by the supermarkets rather than locally grown produce which is a shame. I lingered over coffee on the square but then decided to crack on with cooking for the week ahead as I shall be quite busy. So I made a lamb tagine and another vat of ratatouille. Our Danish neighbours came round in the afternoon to sample a traditional afternoon tea and then I settled down to the rugby.
