Istanbul blue

Afternoon boat trip on the beautiful blue Bosphorus with 40+ residential students and three colleagues.  Fantastic views on this gentle and enjoyable short cruise.  Pictured is Ortaköy mosque, recently refurbished,  seen against a backdrop of the tower blocks of Levent.  I liked the contrast of old and new on this exceptionally warm and blue sky sunny day.

Much later:-  at the time of writing the above I had not heard about the bombing in Ankara.  The Prime Minister has declared three days mourning for those we have lost in this brutal and offensive murderous act.  Rumours abound but nothing - truth or lie - changes the fact that nearly 100 young people were slaughtered today as they marched for peace.
